Havens Doodles is a celebrated pet breeder based in Chesapeake, VA. We are a team of two sisters, Ashley, the founder of Haven’s Doodles, and Elizabeth, who snuggles and raises the pups. We invite you to get to know Ashley and Elizabeth a little better:
When Ashley was growing up, her family bred quality AKC standard poodles and Ashley fell in love with the breed. Today, Ashley is married to Chris, and their home is filled with the love and laughter of six beautiful children. They believe in foster care, and have taken in multiple children over the years. Together, Ashley and Chris own @adelediamondrings, a thriving jewelry store. Ashley is a boss when it comes to running a business smoothly. She has always been an on-the-go type of person. When she puts her mind to getting something done, she puts her all into it and excels. A few years ago Ashley’s passion for poodles blossomed into a high quality breeding program when she was bitten by the goldendoodle bug. When Ashley does something, she does it with the same passion that she raises her family.
Elizabeth is Haven’s Doodles right hand team member. Her early years were filled with rejection and heartbreak. Elizabeth spent her childhood in an orphanage in Eastern Europe, and at age 15 was adopted by Ashley’s parents. She left her homeland, her language, and her friends to come to America. The transition was exciting and scary, and the change was difficult. Elizabeth got her first puppy, a Chihuahua mix, to help her cope with anxiety and emotional difficulties. Bentley has received so much love, and has inspired Elizabeth’s love of animals. Because she had no stable family as a child, she has a passion to care for animals who do not have loving families. Elizabeth fosters for the local SPCA, specifically taking in abandoned mommas with litters. Watching terrified animals slowly warm up to humans again is her passion. Elizabeth finds joy in getting dogs healthy, socialized, and ready for adoption.
She joined Haven’s Doodles in 2021, and oversees breeding and whelping our dogs. The puppies born at Haven’s Doodles spend their first seven weeks with Elizabeth, where she spoils them rotten – caring for them, cleaning up after them, making sure they are are healthy and happy and ready for their furrever homes.
